A LITTLE ARTISTIC FENCING . . .

I took these photos 2 months ago when we took a Sunday afternoon drive up into the hills around us.  Hidden around this curve, and then that curve, and up this dirt road and then that dirt road, was a home with this rather unique fence.   There were lots more sections to it then just these but I thought these the most unusual figures.  Thought I would share the Creativity with you.  The most interesting thing about the fence though . . . there was a small, official looking sign posted with it that said it it funded in part by the Washington State Arts Commission.  We've put in a few fences over the years, and one or two even had pretty creative gates, but it never occurred to me that I could possibly have submitted them as Art projects funded by the State . . .

Maybe a Shaman . . .?

hmmm...

My vote is an Alien . . .

This one reminds me of my Sisters Series.

Here she is again with a Pharaoh.

Day 14 ~ COURAGE SITS BESIDE US

Courage Sits Beside Us by Charleen Martin ~ 7" x 5" One of my available ArtCards

It's Day 14 of the Leslie Saeta Marketing Challenge (well, actually it's Day 15 but I'm a day behind!) and todays challenge is to give something away in order to promote your work.   So... I've decided to actually give away multiple items (ArtCards).  Well . . . one (or two!)  to each person that signs up to receive my Newsletter and/or follow my Blog.  In other words, you will receive one for signing up for the Newsletter and one for following my Blog.  You will have to go to the following page  'ArtCards'  on my website and pick out the one or two cards you want. These are 5 x 7" Frameable Art 'Prints' with space on the back for writing a Note.

If you decide to follow my Blog just sign up over on the right.  If you would like to receive a copy of my Newsletter you can click here and it will take you to my sign up page.  You will also have the opportunity to read past issues if you like.

This will last until May 31st (or until 100 cards are given out)  At that time everyone that has signed on will be put in a drawing to win a Box of my Assorted NoteCards (different than the ArtCards) and you can see those here.

To receive your cards please send me your choice(s), along with name and address to  Couragesitsbesideus@gmail.com.  Addresses will not be kept once the promotion is over.
Thanks everyone for reading this.  Have a great Day!

Day 5 of the Leslie Saeta Marketing Challenge

Day 5 was to do a Collage of 2 or more of your Paintings and then we can post them on to Leslies Blog.  I was out of town for 3 days so now I'm playing catch-up!  The last time I looked I think there were 83 Artists that had completed this particular Challenge. I'm pleased with how this turned out but then I happen to be somewhat partial to the pieces that I chose to use.  The Two Sisters (top middle) and the Trees (on the right) are the only 2 that are available.  More information can be found about them on my Website listed above.

On to Day 6!

(This is going to be out of sync because I made a mistake on Day 5 and had to redo it)    :(

DAY 6 of the Leslie Saeta Marketing Challenge

The Day 6 Challenge was to create a 'Badge' for one of our links.  This is actually something that I've wanted to do for a while and wasn't clear on how to do it. So... Leslie gave everyone directions on how to accomplish this and off we went.  You'll see this same Photo over to the right.  Now if you click on that one  it will take you directly to my Website.  (You can still get there with the Text below but the idea is that the Photo should be a little more appealing to people thereby generating more traffic to the Website).

I have a correction to make on Day 5 so back to the books! :)

When Times were Simple . . .

When Times were Simple . . .

I am taking part in the 30~ Day Marketing Challenge that is being put on and hosted by the wonderful Palette Knife Artist Leslie Saeta.  Leslie hosted the 'Paint 30 Paintings in 30 Days' Challenge in January.  I thought about participating but that was a s far as I got.  It was pre-shoulder surgery so I was afraid I wouldn't be able to keep up ~ even at a minimum.  Her mantra is to just do what you feel you can do and have fun but I feel like I need to at least be able to make a decent effort.  Anyway, I decided to go ahead and try this challenge and if any of you are interested it is not to late to join in.  It is only the second day.  For more information on the challenge you can click here to go to Leslies blog which will tell you all about it.  Even if you only do a few, that's a few more than what you would have done in an effort to market your work.

The Challenge today is to take a piece that you already have on your Website and re-post it on to Facebook and your Blog.  So . . . I picked the above piece because here in Wenatchee we are currently in the throes of the 'Apple Blossom Festival'.  Wenatchee considers itself the 'Apple Capital of the World' and so this is a big deal around here.  For those of you not familiar with the Central Valley area of Washington , it is covered with Orchards and Vineyards and this is probably the most beautiful time of year around here.  All the Fruit trees are covered with beautiful Pink and White Blooms ~ truly gorgeous.

For more information on the above piece please go to my Website by clicking here.

Have a great day!
